Partnering with the PA Migrant Education Program (Lancaster PA)
This past Tuesday was a full and productive day at the Alpha and Omega Community Center. The morning began with the food bank. Then, from 12 to 1 pm, the PA Migrant Education Program (MEP) hosted a “Back to School Fair” in the lower level of the Alpha and Omega Church.
I was happy to represent Computers for Refugees and connect face to face with MEP staff. I also talked with families and took applications for computers.

I received applications for seven desktops and three laptops.
Currently, we have two desktops that are ready to go with WIFI but do not have webcams or speakers. With just five more Dell mice, we could outfit the other five desktops. The laptop applicants were put on a waiting list.

The PA Migrant Education Program is based at Millersville University and provides comprehensive educational programs for migratory students to help reduce educational disruption and other problems that result from repeated moves. Migrant workers are employed by dairy farms, poultry farms, and agri-related industries that process vegetables, fruit, poultry, and beef within our project areas.
Thanks to the MEP staff for your service to families in our community.
